I have a new laptop, it says no boot loader installed. so are you having a terrible time booting? or are you just not getting to the GRUB screen? i have an i5, win 8 is installed on it, i want to dual boot with ubuntu so boot the installer. i put the cd in but my computer says no boot loader installed b_bb: i don't have you on ignore, but of course you can't get to it. there is no need for a bootloader to be installed to have a working system. is it an acer bios thing? are you using the UEFI boot path? how do i know if im using UEFI? it boots the kernel without GRUB. if your computer is entirely new, then sure. otherwise it would've come with a UEFI boot path. it says no boot loader installed after the bios screen that's not what i asked. is it an Asus, Acer, Dell, Toshiba, etc... laptop? its an hp pavilion dm4 please have a read it's very important.
